Policy Review

Internal policies are the rules a business relies on to govern conduct, manage risk, and defend its decisions, and they are only as good as their drafting and their consistency. A policy that is vague, outdated, non-compliant, or contradicted by another policy is worse than no policy at all, because it creates expectations the business …

About Policy Review

A policy review examines internal policies for three things at once: compliance, consistency, and enforceability. Compliance asks whether each policy meets the legal requirements that apply to it, which matters acutely for mandatory policies such as those on workplace harassment, data protection, and certain labour obligations. Consistency asks whether the policies agree with each other and with the company’s contracts and documents, because contradictions across the policy framework are a common and avoidable source of dispute. Enforceability asks whether a policy is drafted and communicated in a way that a business can actually rely on when it needs to.

What distinguishes Law Mahaguru is that we review policies the way they will be read when they matter, in a dispute, an investigation, or an audit. A policy is invoked precisely when something has gone wrong, and at that moment its drafting determines whether it protects the business or undermines it. We examine whether the disciplinary, grievance, conduct, and operational policies are clear, lawful, internally consistent, and properly acknowledged, so they function as the safeguards they are meant to be rather than as liabilities.

The value is reliable protection. A business with sound, consistent, compliant policies can act on them with confidence, defend its decisions on a solid procedural footing, and meet the mandatory requirements that carry direct legal exposure. We help businesses move from a patchwork of policies accumulated over time to a coherent framework that genuinely supports how the company operates and protects it when challenged.

We review internal policies for growing companies formalising their frameworks, established businesses whose policies have aged or drifted out of alignment, and organisations responding to an incident that exposed a gap or contradiction. Each receives a clear assessment of where the policies hold and where they need to be fixed.

Policies are only protective if they are sound, consistent, and enforceable. Law Mahaguru makes sure yours are. Share your policy set, and we will tell you where it protects you and where it lets you down.
